Installing from the Microsoft Store (recommended)
The easiest and safest way to install Tepun Desktop is from the Microsoft Store:
- Open the Store listing — Go to Tepun on the Microsoft Store (or the Download link in the top navigation).
- Click Get / Install — Windows installs the app in one click, with no security warnings.
- Sign in — Open Tepun Desktop and log in with your Tepun account.
Why the Store? Store installs are verified and signed by Microsoft (no SmartScreen prompt) and update automatically in the background, so you're always on the latest version.
Direct download (alternative)
Prefer not to use the Store? You can download the signed installer directly:
- Sign in & verify email — The direct download requires a logged-in account with a verified email. If you don't have an account yet, start the 15-day free trial.
- Open the download page — Go to the desktop download page.
- Download for Windows — Click Download for Windows to get the signed installer (
.exe). - Run the installer — Launch the downloaded file and follow the prompts. Installing a new version replaces the previous one automatically.
- Sign in — Open Tepun Desktop and log in with your Tepun account.
SmartScreen note (direct download only): With the direct installer, Windows SmartScreen may show a caution prompt on a brand-new version while it builds reputation. Choose More info → Run anyway to continue — the installer is code-signed by Tepun Group LLC. Store installs never show this prompt.
Connecting to Local & On-Premise Databases
Because the desktop app runs on your machine, it can connect to data sources that aren't exposed to the public internet:
- Databases on
localhostor127.0.0.1 - Servers on your private network or behind a corporate firewall
- On-premise warehouses without opening them to inbound traffic

Updates
- Microsoft Store installs update automatically in the background — you're always on the latest version with nothing to do.
- For direct downloads, grab new versions any time from the download page; the app will let you know if your version is out of date.
- Installing a new version replaces the older one automatically — no manual uninstall needed.
- Keeping up to date ensures compatibility with the latest web platform features.
